Deadbolt ? The story goes like this : Three guys drinking at a sleazey punk rock bar called the Pink Panther in 1991, got to know each other, and decided to start a band, they called it Deadbolt. They were sick of hippies and Eddie Vedder-type bands. They got signed to Cargo records after three shows. It just goes to show you, you don't have to be a genius to start a band. They toured the U.S. and Canada relentlessly + 2 much talked about headlining european tours, and built up cult following of loyal, raging, lunantic fans. On those they earned their label of “most dangerous band in the world”. Pyrotecnics, karaté moves, snakes, black&decker hardware mania and general mayhem onstage make their shows one of the most fun experiences you can stumble upon on a rock’n’roll club stage Eight albums later, all of which are on Cargo Records, they still don't mind telling the crowd to go fuck themselves. Blending the sound of a truck driving son of a bitch, The Cramps and a Dick Dale guitar, their sound turned into their own signature, called Voodoobilly.
